Razorblade Tears Book Review
Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby was so well-done that I ended up reading a story I would normally not pick up, just to keep consuming the words. It’s billed as a mystery / thriller which I always love, but I knew from reviews that it was more of a violent action-packed read. Think Ozark meets Jason Bourne and you’ll have an understanding of the genre.
In the book we meet two fathers after their sons (who are married to each other) were murdered. They go on a revenge-seeking journey to find the person(s) responsible for their deaths and bring about their vengeance.
It’s fast-paced and in your face from the start, and I quickly found myself engrossed in the mystery aspect. The writing is excellent, and I immediately settled inside the mindset of the fathers. I am certain that the narration in the audio book contributed as well. Adam Lazarre-White did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life.
I did have a hard time with the violence on audio and at times wished I had a physical copy so I could skim a few lines of gore, but then I would have missed out on the narration. If you love a mystery and can tolerate physical fights and torture, then I recommend the audio. If you want to experience the story (so good!) but need to page past the violence, opt for the physical book.
