Fabulous Bodies by Chuck Tingle

Book Review and Rating

If you have ever read a Chuck Tingle book, then you know they could feasibly be their own genre. I love this author and his quirky, witty characters paired with absolutely weird plotlines. He is notably mysterious and anonymous as an author and his books tend to be a mash-up of queer romance, mystery, and horror which sounds like it wouldn’t work but it truly does.

I’ve read two of his prior books, Camp Damascus and Bury Your Gays, and I don't know if anything can top Bury Your Gays, but this had the same energy. There are just enough disgusting and wince-inducing scenes to earn the horror title, and the humor and character depth is woven so well into it. The plot is absurd and the character personalities are big, it was a ridiculous and fun listen. The audio narration added a lot to the experience and it's my favorite way to read a Chuck Tingle book.

This was an easy 4.5-5.0 stars for me.

Thank you SO much to Macmillan Audio for gifting me an early listen in exchange for my review. You are always good to me and I never stop feeling grateful for these incredible books.
